Mini Masters (4 Art Class Series for Kids Ages 5-10)
11am-12pm, May 20th, May 27th, June 3rd, and June 10th.

Teacher: Lily Thompson. The series includes 4 (1 hour) Saturday art classes.
The classes center around famous Modern art masters including Monet, Picasso, Seurat, and Matisse. Each artist-themed class includes a short book read by the instructor to learn about the artist, a quick art vocabulary lesson and demonstration of the art project, and one-on-one attention during the art project due to the small class size. Students should wear “art friendly” clothing. The cost of the “mini masters” series is $100 per student which includes all 4 classes and art materials. The fee must be paid for all classes at once and is non-refundable (money goes to renting the classroom space, buying materials, and paying for teachers and assistants).

2017 Young Innovators Summer Camp, the competitive STEAM-focused training event for students ages 8 thru 18, taking place July 24th through the 28th at the Bossier Arts Council.

This highly-anticipated camp is designed to inspire students to “think outside the box” and creatively solve real-world problems using the tools provided, preparing them for 21st century challenges by exposing them to opportunities to ask questions, collaborate and innovate through core STEAM standards. In addition, our experienced staff will teach students how to apply these concepts by designing hands-on projects to demonstrate their understanding of science, technology, engineering, and art through literacy and mathematics.

Finally, students participating in this Summer Camp will be able to use the skills learned to better compete in national STEM/STEAM challenges, such as “Odyssey of the Mind”, “Destination Imagination”, and the Imagination Foundation’s “Cardboard Challenge”.

The Camp takes place Monday thru Friday, from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. The registration fees includes all of the materials and learning resources that your child will receive, a camp t-shirt and lesson binder, plus drinks and snacks.

Once you are registered, you will receive a welcome packet that will provide additional details.

The arts revolution starts here.
